For pulling historical compensation data from Workday into Aeqium, we need to access fields from the Worker and Compensation History business objects:

In order to get those fields, please follow these steps:

  1. Create a RaaS Report: In the Workday search bar, type "Create Report" and select "Create Report" from the results. Choose the "Advanced" report type, as this allows for RaaS functionality and customization.

    1. Check Enable As Web Service. Set the data source to All Active and Terminated Workers. Give the report a name (e.g. “Aeqium Employee Comp History Report”).
  2. Primary Business Object: Select Worker as the primary business object. This will ensure each row in your report represents a single employee.

  3. Define Columns: Add the following columns to the report:

Field Instructions Column Heading Override XML Alias
Employee ID Employee ID from Worker business object EmployeeId
Compensation History Group Add the Compensation History business object as a “multi-instance” field. This will create the nested data structure with the following fields for each historical record Compensation_History_group

Within the Compensation History Group, add the following fields:

    Effective Date EffectiveDate
    Currency Currency
    Reason Reason
    Base Amount BaseAmount
Base Income Type Using the Compensation History business object, set up a calculated field that checks the history records of type Base Income and returns its name (e.g: ‘Salary’ or ‘Hourly’)

Note: Aeqium currently supports Salary and Hourly for this field value.

Base Amount and Base Income Type are required for a Salary record | BaseIncomeType | | Variable Amount | Using the Compensation History business object, set up a calculated field to returns the amount from all your Variable pay plan history records | VariableAmount | | Variable Plan | Using the Compensation History business object, set up a calculated field to return the name of the Variable pay plan from the history records. | VariablePlan |

  4. Make sure to share the Report (through the Share tab within the Report) with specific authorized groups and users, and click on the newly created Integration System User to add them.

  5. Make sure all changes are saved

  6. Obtain the JSON Web Service URL: Next to the name of your custom report you’ll see an ellipsis button, click it and under Actions go to Web Services > View URLs. Go to JSON and copy the url for the JSON format report.

  7. Finally, enter the JSON report URL into the Workday integration form in Aeqium and submit. After you have submitted, please send a note to [email protected] so our team can QA and verify that data is flowing properly.
