WARNING: This document only applies to existing users of Carta spreadsheet imports. Any new users, or existing ones who want to make the switch, should set up a Carta API integration by selecting it from the dropdown under Equity Integrations in Aeqium’s Settings and following the instructions provided there.
While Carta does not natively support automated import of your data, our team can help make sure your data stays fresh. In order to do this, you’ll need to create an account in Carta to be used by the Aeqium integration.
Once that account is set up, you’ll need to upload two separate files, one for the cap table and the other for detailed vesting information.
To import your employee equity grants from the cap table, log in to Carta and click on the "Essentials" tab followed by "Run reports”. Next, click the link for "Cap Table" at the top of the Capitalization section:
In the window that pops up, select "Securities ledgers by type and class", click “Export to Excel”, and upload the resulting Excel to the first link in the import instructions modal.
To import your employees’ vesting details, in Carta, click on the "Essentials" tab followed by "Run reports". Search for "Vesting Details", export it, and upload the resulting Excel file to the second link in the modal. Detailed vesting information is required to accurately reflect vesting events, particularly for non-standard schedules.
After your Carta data gets imported, you may see a list of unmatched grants under the integration in Aeqium. These are grants that we were unable to match (via employee ID or email) to an existing employee in Aeqium. We recommend reviewing these and assigning grants that should be in Aeqium to their respective employees.
Visit our Aeqium Help Center or don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] for issues with the platform or feedback. Support channels within your company are a better choice for questions about policy or your specific cycle.
