Why SSO?

Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication process that allows users to log in with a single credential across multiple applications. The two main advantages of SSO are limiting the number of places where credentials are stored, and reducing the credential management burden on employees. If SSO is used, your credentials are only stored with your identity provider. No other application (including Aeqium) will store or have access to your SSO credentials, significantly reducing security concerns. Additionally, with only one set of credentials to keep track of employees are much less likely to forget them and more likely to use stronger passwords, also reducing security concerns. For these reasons, we recommend all companies leverage SSO.

We’ve specifically selected two well-established SSO protocols for Aeqium users: Google Login and SAML.

We recommend that you use Google Login if it is possible to do so with your email provider. If you can’t use Google, move on to the What is SAML? section below.

To set up Google Login, simply select it as an option, click the “Continue with Google” button, and log in. Afterward, users at your company will be able to log in through Google with an account under your domain.

You will also see that you have the option to only allow users at your company to log in through SSO. We recommend that you check this unless you specifically need users to also be able to use their email and an Aeqium-specific password to log in.

Using SAML

What is SAML?

SAML SSO is an authentication standard built off of XML. It is currently widespread and allows for companies and organizations to enable single sign-on across multiple applications through one identity provider. Through SAML SSO we support most identity providers (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and more).
